Nuno Santo is close to returning again to coaching in the English Premier League, this time from the gate of Nottingham Forest, which has a long history.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that the Nottingham administration is on its way to dismiss coach Steve Cooper due to the decline in results this season.

Nottingham failed to win in the last 6 matches, falling to 17th place, only 5 points away from the first relegation places.

The Nottingham owner felt that it was time for a change, and decided to dismiss Cooper, but it is not known whether the decision will take effect before or after the Bournemouth match next Saturday.

According to “The Guardian”, communication between Nottingham and Santo has taken place, and the agreement between the two parties has already occurred, and it is a matter of time and the former Jeddah Al-Ittihad coach will arrive at the City Ground Stadium.

The decision of the English club management to sign the Portuguese coach comes against the backdrop of his distinguished career in the Premier League with Wolverhampton over a period of 4 and a half years, and his success in forming a team that was a nightmare for all major teams and never competed for relegation.

After his experience at Wolverhampton, Santo went to coach Tottenham, but he did not last long and was dismissed after only three months, after which he began a new career in the Arab region through the gate of the Saudi Al-Ittihad.

Santo led Al-Ittihad to its first Saudi League title since 2009, but was dismissed in November 2023 due to declining results.
