Officially.. Al Wahda sacks Pitso Mosimane, could he manage Zamalek soon?

UAE club Al Wahda announced the dismissal of coach Pitso Mosimane, with Dutchman Arnaud Poetenwig appointed as his successor.

The South African coach took over the task of coaching Al Wahda last summer, but the results and levels provided by the Emirati club with him did not live up to the level hoped.

According to Al Wahda announcement, the decision to terminate Mosimane's contract, which extends until next year, was consensual between the two parties.

The ex-Al Ahly coach led Al Wahda in 14 matches in all competitions, during which he succeeded in winning 8 times, losing 5 others, and drawing once.

Mosimane left Al Wahda in fifth place in the UAE league standings with 12 points after 7 rounds, and 5 points behind leaders Al Wasl.

Mosimane's departure raises many questions about the possibility of taking over the coaching of Egypt's Zamalek, who are looking for a foreign coach to succeed Juan Carlos Osorio in the coming period.

Mosimane has good experience in Egypt, having led Al Ahly to the Egyptian league title once, the Egyptian Cup once, and the CAF Champions League twice.

Egyptian newspaper reports earlier and during Mosimane's tenure as coach of Al Wahda, confirmed that it is within the circle of interests of Zamalek, and may increase the White Knight's quest to contract with the former Sundowns coach during the coming period.
