Walid Regragui, coach of the Moroccan national team, refused to underestimate the Tanzania national team before facing them in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, and stressed that the African continent does not have weak teams, stressing the necessity of the Atlas Lions achieving victory from the heart of the city of Dar es Salaam.

The Moroccan national team did not play its first match in the qualifiers due to the withdrawal of the Eritrea national team, so its career began with the Mkapa National Stadium with a seemingly difficult confrontation against the Tanzania national team. Regragui refused to play a friendly match instead of the canceled one, and revealed the reason by saying, “We did not play any friendly match by my decision so that the group could prepare well for this match."

As for the Tanzania match, he said, “There are no longer weak and strong teams. We are aware that we will face a difficult team that wants to win and harm us.”

He continued, "I have always warned in my statements about teams that have not previously participated in the World Cup and the extent of their desire to rebel against the elders. Tanzania is a truly strong team on its field."

Regragui touched on his last confrontation with Tanzania in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, when he was assistant coach Rachid Taoussi and Morocco lost 3-1. He said, “Whether it was a page or a slap, as some say, I have folded it. It has been 10 years, and we are today’s children and we are focused.” On tomorrow's match."

He concluded his speech by saying, "We have no room for error, and we have no other choice but to achieve victory because Morocco represented Africa well in the World Cup in Qatar and it must repeat that, but it requires a lot of effort from the players."

Zambia leads the Morocco group with 3 points, with a goal difference over Tanzania, and the group also includes Niger and Congo.
