Salah among the nominees for the Premier League October Player of the Month award

The Premier League announced on Thursday evening the list of players nominated for the October Player of the Month award, and saw the presence of 6 names as usual.

Mohamed Salah topped the list after his outstanding performances with Liverpool, scoring 5 goals in three games for the Reds this month, two at Brighton and Everton and another against Nottingham Forest last Sunday.

The Egypt international is competing with Arsenal's Declan Rice, Tottenham's Cristian Romero, Wolves midfielder Pedro Neto, Brentford's Brian Mbeumo and Aston Villa's Brazilian Douglas Luiz.

Salah has already won the Player of the Month award 4 times over the last six years in the Premier League, the first was in November 2017, then February and March 2018, and the last time dates back to October 2021.

Pep Guardiola ruled out with nominees for coach of the month award

The league also announced the names of 5 coaches nominated for the Premier League Coach of the Month award, and the surprise was the exclusion of Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, from the list.

The list included the coach of the championship leaders, Tottenham, Ange Postecoglou, along with Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp, Aston Villa coach Unai Emery and his Spanish compatriot and Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta.

Postecoglou may be tilted in favour, having won all of Spurs' games in October, and led the team to a two-point lead over the nearest pursuers.
