Globe Soccer announced the final list of nominees for its awards for the year 2023, and witnessed the presence of Mohamed Salah alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the battle for the best of the past year.
The Globe Soccer Award is awarded in 14 different categories, and the award ceremony, which was launched in 2010, is held annually in Dubai.
In November, the full list of nominees was announced, and the number of nominees was narrowed down to a shortlist on the evening of Tuesday 12 December.
In the category of best player in the world, Mohamed Salah competes with Ronaldo, Messi, De Bruyne, Haaland, Osimhen, Bellingham and Vinicius.
Another category is presented for the best player in the world, but by the vote of the fans, at the top of which are Salah, Ronaldo and Messi as well, along with Neymar and Jude Bellingham.
As for the best club category for last year, Al-Ahly of Egypt competes with Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia, along with Barcelona, City, Napoli, Inter, and Fluminense.
The Egyptian-Saudi competition is renewed through the Best Player in the Middle East award, as Al-Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy, Al-Hilal star Salem Al-Dosari, and a handful of Western stars compete for the title.
It is noteworthy that the ceremony to announce the winners and distribute the awards will be held on January 14, 2024 in Dubai.
