Eric Ten Hag responds to journalists who accused him of causing problems with players

Manchester United's management banned a group of journalists from attending coach Erik ten Hag's conferences, in response to their publishing news of the players' anger towards the Dutch coach and their desire for him to leave.

The list of those banned included Sky Sports editor-in-chief Kaveh Solhekhol, Manchester United Evening News correspondent Samuel Luckhurst, Mirror correspondent David McDonnell, and ESPN correspondent Rob Dawson.

The English club commented in an official statement about this step, saying, “It is not about publishing news that we do not like, but about doing so without contacting us to give us the opportunity to comment or clarify the matter.”

In turn, Eric Ten Hag spoke at the press conference for the Chelsea match about the decision, saying, “They (the press) should have come to us first and not move behind us and write these false reports. We have a good relationship with them, so they should have come to us first and talked about that.”

As for his comment about what was reported about his loss of a large number of players in the locker room, he said, “I am confident that the players are behind me. You can see the comeback against Brentford, the Burnley match, and the Fulham match. Every time the team shows its character and readiness, we are united together.”

He also added, "The stories circulating in the media about the players are not true. There are no angry feelings in the locker room."

He concluded, "In every club you find players who participate less or do not play and are less happy. In some circumstances you need this. Players need to be patient with their opportunities, but this is not a crisis for us."

It is noteworthy that Manchester United will enter the match with Chelsea in seventh place in the English Premier League standings after losing 6 matches and winning 8 others.
