Ten Hag reveals the situation of United's injuries and talks about his relationship with Varane

Manchester United coach Erik Ten Hag confirmed that Andre Onana is healthy and can play against Everton on Sunday, while the participation position of duo Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund is still pending due to injury.

Onana suffered an injury while participating with the Cameroon national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, while Hojlund missed Denmark, and Ten Hag revealed that Mount also suffered an injury in the past few days.

The Dutch coach said in the press conference on Friday, “Andre is fine. He participated in training today, so he is in good condition and can play.”

He also added, "Rasmus is close to returning. He is training with us and making good steps. We will make the final decision about him tomorrow."

As for Mount, “he suffered a minor injury, so we have to evaluate his readiness for tomorrow’s match.”

In this regard, it is noteworthy that Manchester United is losing the services of Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, and Tyrell Malacia to injury, while Luke Shaw finally returned after a three-month absence.

Ten Hag touched on answering questions from the press about what was said about the deterioration of his relationship with Raphael Varane and that the French defender will leave in the upcoming winter transfer period.

Ten Hag commented, "Varane's departure? I don't know anything about what you're talking about. They're just rumours."

Regarding Varane’s non-participation, he responded, saying, “He is a very important player for us, but there is great internal competition for his position.”

It is worth noting that Varane lost his starting place in the Ten Hag squad to Harry Maguire, and the newspapers said that there is a major dispute between the Frenchman and his Dutch coach that will lead him to leave next January for 20 to 30 million euros, and Bayern Munich is the most interested at the present moment.
