Ten Hag: We are going to win at Anfield and Klopp responds: 7-0 is a once-in-a-lifetime result!

Erik ten Hag, Manchester United coach, raised the bar before his team's upcoming confrontation with Liverpool, when he stressed that he would form a team that could challenge the Reds at Anfield and return with the three match points.

The confrontation between the two teams comes after two consecutive losses for United against Bournemouth and Bayern Munich, while the Reds are in their best condition in light of topping the English Premier League standings and qualifying for the round of 16 in the European League.

The last confrontation between the two teams at Anfield last season witnessed a landslide victory for Liverpool with a score of 7-0, and Ten Hag remembers that well and wants to exploit it to motivate his players to seek revenge this season.

The Dutch coach said in press statements, "We played well last season against them, but we conceded a goal in the last moments and the collapse began. This cannot be repeated. Our team this season is different from last season."

He also added, "We will form a team that can challenge and is confident of winning the match. We are working to prepare the players in the best possible way and we have confidence in our ability to form a team that can return from Anfield with a victory."

For his part, Klopp was asked about last year's win and whether it could be repeated, and he replied, "The 7-0 result we achieved that day was a strange result and happens almost once in a lifetime."

He continued, "The more negatives United have before our match, the stronger they appear. I don't like that. I don't follow United closely this season, so I don't know exactly where their problem is."

He concluded, "I am not concerned with United's situation because we are only focusing on ourselves, but Ten Hag was the coach last month and the team was in its best condition, so how could they be in a difficult or wrong situation? I don't really understand that."

Liverpool leads the English Premier League with 37 points, 10 points behind Manchester United, which comes in sixth place with 27 points.
