Andre Onana, Manchester United goalkeeper, will undertake a crazy experiment in order to last as long as possible with the Red Devils before the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Onana was called up to the Cameroon national team participating in the African Nations, where the Lions play in a hot group with Senegal, Gambia and Guinea.

During the past few hours, contacts were made between Manchester United and the Cameroonian Federation to allow Onana to play in the Tottenham match on January 14, and then join coach Song’s squad after that.

According to the Daily Mail, the Cameroonian Federation, after Onana’s insistence, agreed to United’s request for the player to participate in the Spurs match scheduled to be held at Old Trafford.

As soon as the match between United and Tottenham ends, Onana will travel to Côte d'Ivoire on the same day and join the Cameroon national team, with a high probability that, just 24 hours later, he will play the Untamed Lions' first match against Guinea, on January 15.

Football players need at least 48 hours to recover physically, but Onana is willing to sacrifice just to help his team and be with his country in Africa.

It is noteworthy that Manchester United signed Altay Binder last summer as a replacement for Onana, but until now, despite the mistakes of the Cameroonian goalkeeper, coach Eric ten Hag has not relied on the Turkish goalkeeper in any match in any tournament.
