El-Shenawy was angry after Young Africans scored the equalizer

Al-Ahly lost two valuable points in its CAF Champions League group campaign after drawing with Young Africans 1-1 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

After a series of easy wasted opportunities, Al-Ahly was finally able to take the lead in the 86th minute, thanks to a huge defensive error by Young Africans, which Percy Tau exploited perfectly.

Everyone thought that the match ended in favor of Al-Ahly, but surprisingly, Zouzoua was able to score the equalizer for Young Africans in the first minute of stoppage time.

This draw raised Al-Ahly’s score to 4 points at the top of their group, one point behind CR Belouizdad and Medeama (3 points each) in second and third place, while Young Africans achieved their first point in the groups.

It is noteworthy that this is the second consecutive stumble for Al-Ahly after a 0-0 draw with Smouha in the Egyptian League a few days ago, which sparked a wave of criticism of coach Marcel Kohler.

In Mauritania, Pyramids suffered an unexpected defeat from Nouadhibou, 2-0, thanks to a brace from Ammar Sidi Bouna.

Sun Downs was also defeated by Mazembe, leaving the four teams equal with 3 points each after two rounds of the group stage.

Zamalek is scheduled to play against Sowar of Guinea on Sunday in the Confederation Cup, and Modern Future will face the Libyan team, Al Hilal, at the latter’s stadium.
