The Saudi League announces: One scenario to sign Mohamed Salah in January

Michael Emenalo, director of football in the Saudi League, confirmed that Mohamed Salah will not join one of the Rushen League clubs in the winter transfer period except in one scenario that includes “great respect” for Liverpool.

Last summer, Al-Ittihad tried to obtain Salah’s signature and give him a fabulous salary, but after a series of negotiations between the Reds, the Saudi club and the player, the Egyptian international continued at Anfield.

As the winter transfer period approached, rumors came back once again about Salah joining one of the Saudi League clubs, so Emenalo came out and resolved the situation by making it difficult to sign a contract with the 31-year-old unless “all parties wanted to do so.”

“Salah is like Messi, Ronaldo, Benzema and De Bruyne. These are the players that, if they are available, we will try to include,” Emenalo said in statements to Sky Sports.

He also added, "We understand very well that Salah is happy with where he is currently and in a historic club like Liverpool. We respect that and do not want to appear as if we are putting any pressure on him."

Regarding his contract in January, the former Chelsea manager said, “We respect Liverpool, and in this scenario the initiative will not come from our side. There must be a unified interest from all parties involved.”

He concluded, "I signed Salah in Chelsea and I would love to see him here as well. If Mohamed Salah is available and interested in coming to us, I will be very happy."

It should be noted that Salah scored 14 goals with Liverpool this season in all tournaments, at a time when the Reds are at the top of the English Premier League and have reached the round of 16 of the European League, so the chances of the “Egyptian King” seem slim to leave in the winter.
