What is the truth about Sam Morsi being suspended from FA because of supporting Palestine?

Egyptian media reported that Sam Morsi was suspended by the English Football Association for one match, and stated that this came due to his statements in support of the Palestinian cause after the Ipswich Town and Middlesbrough match.

Sam Morsi said after the match, which ended with his team's 2-0 victory, "We are lucky to be here in front of 30,000 fans, while the tragedy continues in Palestine. We are the lucky ones because we can play football for a living and enjoy it."

But in reality, the Egyptian player's suspension has nothing to do with his statements.

The English Football Association published a statement in which it revealed that Sam Morsi was suspended because he behaved inappropriately with the match referee after the final whistle.

For his part, neither the player nor the club objected to this punishment, which will also include a fine of 5 thousand pounds sterling, and the Federation confirmed in its statement that Sam Morsi will not comment on the matter again.

As a result, Morsi will miss Friday's match against Queens Park Rangers at Portman Road.

With nine yellow cards so far this season, the Egyptian international is one warning away from a two-match suspension.
