Bayern Munich renews Manuel Neuer's contract even though he is 37 years old!

Bayern Munich renewed the contract of goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for an additional year, to remain the guardian of the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2025.

The German goalkeeper's contract with his club was expiring next summer, and the idea of his departure was proposed early in 2023 after the severe injury he suffered while skiing and his advanced age.

But once the 37-year-old returned and has shined since October until now, the Bavarian club’s desire to continue it seemed clear, so the two parties reached an agreement to keep him as Bayern’s goalkeeper for the 14th year in a row.

Commenting on the renewal of his contract, Neuer said, "I am happy to renew my contract with Bayern Munich for another year. After my long injury, I returned and am doing my best."

He also added, "I enjoy being with the team on the field, and I am confident that together with the fans we can achieve all our goals in the coming years, including the 2025 Champions League final in Munich."

Neuer's contract renewal was accompanied by the renewal of the contract of his replacement, Sven Ulreich, until 2025 as well, after the club appreciated what the former Stuttgart goalkeeper did in accepting the role of second goalkeeper and giving everything he had when needed.

It is noteworthy that Neuer joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2011, coming from Schalke for 11 million euros, and since then he played 494 matches for the southern giant, won 11 German League titles, and won the Champions League twice, with many other individual and collective achievements.
