Stuttgart eliminated its guest, Borussia Dortmund, from the round of 16 of the German Cup after defeating it 2-0 in the match that was held at the MHP Arena.

The double for the South German team came from Serhou Guirassy in the 54th minute, and substitute Silas Katumba in the 77th minute.

This was Guirassy 's 18th goal this season in 13 matches in all competitions, with 16 goals in the German League and two goals in the German Cup.

This is the second time that Dortmund has lost to Stuttgart at the latter's stadium this season, as the Westphalia Lions suffered a 2-1 defeat in the German League last November against the club that ranks third in the Bundesliga.

The round of 16 witnessed a huge upset, when Saarbrücken, one of the German third-tier clubs, eliminated giant Eintracht Frankfurt by defeating it 2-0.

Perhaps Saarbrücken is the dark horse for the German Cup this season, as it is the same club that shocked everyone by eliminating Bayern Munich from the round of 32 by beating them 2-1.

Bayer Leverkusen, Kaiserslautern and Borussia Mönchengladbach also qualified for the quarter-finals of the second most important German competition.
