Dortmund resorts to the "old guard" to stop the coup against the coach

Borussia Dortmund resorted to making changes in the technical staff in order to improve the team’s results, instead of dismissing coach Edin Terzic, as was the demand of the fans and players in the previous period.

According to Bild newspaper, Dortmund is in the process of appointing the duo Nuri Sahin and Sven Bender to the position of assistant coach to current coach Terzic in order to facilitate communication between the coach and the players in the coming period.

Nuri Sahin is already working as a coach with Antalyaspor in Turkey, and he agreed to leave his position in order to return to the club that witnessed his brilliance on the field.

Meanwhile, Bender is well-experienced in the world of coaching, having worked as an assistant coach with the German U-17 team that just won the World Cup a few weeks ago.

Shahin played with Dortmund for 7 years, the same period that Bender also played for the German club, and both of them witnessed the golden period for the yellow and black, which witnessed winning the German League twice and reaching the Champions League final with coach Jurgen Klopp.

The Turkish press indicates that Shahin's appointment as assistant coach comes in order to prepare him to become the team's coach next season after obtaining the necessary licenses from UEFA, as well as the experience required to fill this position.

The Dortmund administration refused to dismiss Terzic despite what was said about a coup by the players, led by Marco Reus, against the coach and informing the administration of the necessity of his departure.

Dortmund occupies fifth place in the German League standings, and during the last 10 matches in all tournaments it has only won two matches.
