Kane surpasses Lewandowski with a historic number

Harry Kane led his team, Bayern Munich, to an important victory over Cologne with an unanswered goal, at the opening of the twelfth round of the German League competitions.

The English striker's goal, which came in the 20th minute, wrote a new history in the Bundesliga competition in the name of "Prince" Harry Kane.

This goal was his 18th this season after only 12 rounds of the Bundesliga, and he becomes the first to score this number of goals in such a small number of matches in the history of the competition.

This is Kane's first season with the Bavarian giant, and he may be the actual successor to Robert Lewandowski, who in his first season with Bayern Munich, over the course of 31 matches, scored only 17 goals, meaning that the former Tottenham striker scored the same number of goals as he did in his first season after less than a quarter. Season only.

At the same time, Kane has become the English player who has scored the most goals in the Bundesliga of all time, ahead of Jadon Sancho (17 goals with Dortmund in the 2019-2020 season) and Kevin Keegan (17 goals with Hamburg in the 1978-1979 season).

Kane also strengthened his lead in the German League's top scorers' standings, as the difference between him and the closest competitor, Stuttgart striker Serho Djerassi, now stands at 3 goals, awaiting what the Guinean striker will perform with Al Janoub Club when they face Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

The 30-year-old Kane commented on the Cologne match by saying, “It was an important match for us today. Perhaps the result was not the greatest for some, but in the end we did our job and achieved the victory.”

He concluded, "We controlled the match and had many chances. We would have preferred to score more goals, but it does not matter. The most important thing is that we achieved the three very important points after returning from the international break."

It is noteworthy that Bayern Munich temporarily leads the Bundesliga standings with 32 points, one point ahead of Bayer Leverkusen, which will face Werder Bremen at the Waldstadion on Saturday for the 12th round.
