Xabi Alonso's success does not stop in the Bundesliga

Xabi Alonso continued his historic run of results for Bayer Leverkusen, when his side beat Hoffenheim 3-2 away in the tenth round of the Bundesliga.

Leverkusen took the lead with two goals in the first half through Florian Wirtz and Alejandro Grimaldo, but the hosts succeeded in adjusting in the second half with a double from Anton Stach and Wout Weghorst, but Grimaldo returned and gave the pharmaceutical factory team victory with its goal in the 70th minute.

The win took Leverkusen to 28 points at the top of the Bundesliga standings, and they only knew to win all their games except for a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena with Bayern Munich.

This is the second best start in Bayer Leverkusen's history in the Bundesliga, and it is similar to the start of the historic 2001-2002 season with coach Toppmüller, when the German club lost the Bundesliga title in the last round and the cup in the final, as well as the Champions League final to Real Madrid.

Leverkusen's win over Hoffenheim was also historic, the tenth consecutive season in all competitions, and the best record in the German club's history since promotion to the Bundesliga in 1979.

Interestingly, Alonso's success did not depend only on the league, but also ensured his qualification for the play-offs of the round of 16 of the Europa League after 3 rounds of the group stage after winning all the matches.

Bayer Leverkusen have scored a total of 54 goals in all competitions just after 3 months of the new season, while conceding 14 goals in 15 games, and are the most successful club in the five major European leagues so far by not losing any games and winning 14 out of 15 games.

It remains to be noted that Alonso took charge of Leverkusen last season from coach Sewane, when the team was at the bottom of the Bundesliga, and succeeded in leading them to sixth place last season with access to the semi-finals of the Europa League.
